Help! My Instagram Won’t Let Me Post Multiple Photos. Why?!?

There could be a few reasons you can’t post multiple photos on Instagram right now. The most common culprits include internet connectivity problems, in-app bugs, and your app not being the most up-to-date version. Another less common reason is the app’s cache needing to be cleared on your device.

The good news is that it’s pretty simple to solve all of the above.

Here are some fixes to help you get started.

6 Fixes for When You Can’t Post Multiple Pictures on Instagram

If you find yourself in a bit of a glitch sitch, give the following hacks a crack and see if you can get around the issue:

1. Tap on a Photo

Have you found that the ‘Select multiple’ button has disappeared when you’re trying to put a carousel post together? A recent Instagram update could have removed it. Here’s how to get around it:

  • Start the upload process as you normally would.
  • Fire up the Instagram app, and tap the + icon.
  • Scroll to one of the pictures you want to upload from your camera roll, and then tap and hold for a second. This triggers the option to select multiple pictures and display small circles over the top of all your pictures and videos.
  • Then, you can tap the rest of the photos you want to upload and continue.
Tip: When you choose your first photo, tap the icon in the bottom left-hand corner to crop your photo and change it to the desired aspect ratio. Keep in mind that the other images in your carousel will now also be in the same aspect ratio as the first photo.

2. Clear the Instagram Cache

If you’re having problems with the Instagram app, cleaning your cache data can be a handy maintenance fix. Think of clearing your cache as ‘cleaning’ any stored page information, along with any issues the page could be experiencing.

  • Android: Open the Settings app. Click Apps > Instagram > Storage > Clear cache.
  • iPhone: Head to Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Instagram. Then tap on Offload App. After that, restart the Instagram app and check if you can share multiple pictures on Instagram posts.

3. Check if Your Internet is Working Properly
Instagram’s “Not Posted Yet. Try Again” error is an unpopular issue. Usually, a slow internet connection is behind it.

  • If You’re Using Mobile Data: Check your data settings. Make sure that Data Saver isn’t enabled by heading to the following in your Instagram profile: Settings > Account > Cellular Data Use > Turn off Data Saver. It’s also worth noting that you should check how much data you have left on your allowance.
  • If You’re On Wi-Fi: Disconnect and reconnect from the network and give it another go. Be sure you’re connected to a network that doesn’t restrict your internet access, and ensure you’re not too far away from the Wi-Fi source.

Still not working? Try the following.

For Android Users

To uninstall on an Android Open the Google Play Store app.

  • Tap the profile icon in the top right corner.
