Frequently Asked Questions

Responsibility & Remote Work

+

We offer a lot of freedom and flexibility. In return, we expect a high level of accountability from everyone on the team. And because remote means different things to different people, we want everyone who wants to work with us to understand what remote means for us.

We love that we can offer everyone the opportunity to work remote and the flexibility to set your schedules in a way that works best for you, but we also require certain standards to ensure we can all work as effectively as possible. For us remote does not mean traveling while working, because let’s face it, when you travel, you want to do just that - travel, not work. And when teams are spread across multiple time zones and working all different hours, it becomes incredibly challenging to work effectively or expeditiously.

So, to ensure we work as effectively as possible, and to ensure we can continue to maintain the remote work and flex schedules we all value, we have certain guidelines we work within. We require that teammates be in their home region while working and we require a minimum 4-hour work time overlap with London standard business hours.

And to make sure you have a great WFH setup we also give everyone a stipend of 200 GBP per month, so upgrade your work environment to best suit your needs. It's added to your pay each month, and you can do what you want with it... buy a chair, join a coworking space, it’s up to you! We don't check or ask for receipts or have rules for what it must be used for.

And of course we also highly value work life balance, so we want to ensure everyone gets those much needed breaks to fully enjoy that travel you want to do – for this we offer unlimited PTO.

Where We Hire?

+

While we are remote, we don’t hire in all countries. We hire in 4 key hubs (United Kingdom, Spain, Netherlands, Portugal) and 2 additional hubs for sales and support roles only (USA for sales and the Philippines for support).

We deliberately chose to hire in specific regions that are within close proximity to each other to allow our teams greater opportunities to meet up, co-work on-site, and also travel to see each other. We also want to limit our environmental impact, so we deliberately choose locations where we can easily access each other via trains, not planes.

What is the salary?

+

Our mission and culture make working at VEED a rewarding experience. Our compensation package reflects this. We want to hire, retain and develop the best talent and build something amazing! We value a high performance culture. That is reflected in our comp philosophy. We pay above market and routinely audit to ensure we remain externally competitive and internally fair.

What are you building - what's the mission?

+

Our mission is to make video creation accessible to anyone.

Millions of people are using VEED to succeed with video. From founders to YouTubers, teachers to freelancers, designers to artists, VEED empowers everyone to effortlessly produce captivating videos.

Our Values

+

Our company values are the five core beliefs that we all hold and we lean on them to guide us to to make the best decisions as a team, for our users, and everyone at VEED. We use our values to align as a team and we’re working on integrating them into everything we do, from how we provide feedback to each other to how we make decisions during our hiring process.

Customer are our compass
Our users are everything, without them, there’s no VEED. So with everything we do, from product design to communication, we ask ourselves ‘are we solving our users problems and providing the best possible experience?’

The best work of your life
At VEED we’re building something amazing, we want to look back in years to come and think ‘we built something incredible’

Good vibes make a great community
It doesn’t matter where you come from. We leave our egos at the door. Because a great product requires an inclusive community that attracts talent and brings out the best in each other.

Own it
At VEED everyone holds the key to share ideas, manage their schedule and get products over the line. We trust you to do what’s best for VEED, our users, and everyone around you. We’re all here to take action and try things, so that we can win together.

TLDR
We believe that simple solutions make the most impact. That's why everything from the way we communicate to how we build products, we keep things simple.

How are teams structured, what do they do?

+

Each team is fully stacked with Designers, Developers, Product Managers, and whatever other resources they need to be successful.

Here is how we think about our teams..

Editor: The Editor team is responsible for the core of VEED’s product offering — our video editor. They own the full editing process, from when the user first uploads a video all the way through to when they export the final result, and they sweat the details in every part of that journey.

AI: Our AI team concentrates on effectively integrating AI driven features into our video editing platform, providing our users with a ton of creative possibilities. The team's primary focus is on streamlining the existing editor experience with novel AI tools. Simultaneously, they lead on exploring and implementing new AI based use cases which may benefit our users.

Workflow: Making great videos goes beyond having a world-class editor. From finding the best takes through to working with collaborators, the Workflow teams streamline and improve every step of the creative process that bring our users' ideas to life.

Revenue: Responsible for all revenue generating activities across the product - both self-serve and sales-led.

Activation: Helping users build a habit with VEED.

Payments: The Payment team develops and maintains all of the systems to support the company’s monetisation efforts – enabling users to pay for VEED wherever they are, however they'd like.

Acquisition: Creating compelling reasons to get new users to the front door.

Platform: The platform division provides core capabilities to the other teams within VEED to allow them to rapidly iterate on a well-tested, scalable foundation.

How we hire

+

At VEED we’ve worked hard to nurture a culture of inclusion and creativity and we want you to feel empowered to show up and do the best work of your life.

We take a holistic approach to hiring and believe interviewing is a two way street. You can expect plenty of time to ask questions and meet multiple members of the team who will aim to create an environment where you can perform at your best.

Although there are variations depending on the role, everyone follows the framework below. We hope this transparency helps you feel prepared when you apply.

Round 1 - Meet your Talent Partner. They’ll talk you though the role, share VEED’s story and learn more about your experience so far.

Round 2 - Meet the Hiring Manager. They’ll share more specifics about the role and dive deeper into your skills and abilities.

Round 3 - Work sample interview. Depending on the role you are interviewing for, you can expect a short practical assignment as well.

Round 4 - Meet the Team. One of the best things about working at VEED is the incredible team, so we’d love you to meet a couple of people you’ll cross paths with so you can get a better sense of life at VEED.

Once a year, we all meet up to spend a couple of days working and hanging out together. Our first offsite was in Ericeira, Portugal in 2022, in 2023 we headed to Greece, who knows where we'll end up in 2024!
