What the Chroma Awards are
The Chroma Awards started in 2023 as Project Odyssey and are now in their fourth year. Incubated by ElevenLabs and backed by more than 100 companies and communities, they bill themselves as the world's largest AI film and media competition. Last season drew more than 6,500 submissions from over 5,500 participants.
Entries go into divisions for film and TV, ads, music video, games, behind-the-scenes, and student work. Alongside those sits a Creative Tools division, where sponsoring tools run their own awards. That is where VEED fits: build your entry for any division, use VEED along the way, and you're eligible for the VEED Awards on top of whatever you're competing for in your main category.
What you can make with the VEED API

VEED's part in the awards is built around the VEED API, so the $50 credit goes furthest if you have a script or a scene in mind and want the API to do the production work. A few places to start:
- A presenter from a single image. Fabric 1.0 takes a still image and a script or audio track and returns a talking video, so a character you designed can carry your film or ad.
- Dialogue that matches the mouth. The Lip Sync API syncs a face to any audio, which is how you re-voice a scene or hand a character new lines.
- The same story in another language. VEED's dubbing can translate the speech in a finished video and keep the speaker's voice, so one entry can travel to more than one audience.
- Finishing touches. Subtitles, background removal, and audio clean-up are all available by API call, so the polish doesn't have to happen by hand.
Use as many other tools as you like. The VEED Awards ask only that VEED plays a significant part in the result, and that you say so when you submit.
How to enter
- Claim your credits. Open the VEED pack on the Chroma Awards submission site and fill in the form. Your $50 in VEED API credits arrives by email.
- Build your entry with the VEED API. Keep a note of which VEED tools you used and how; you'll be asked to tag them and show proof when you submit.
- Submit to any division by January 7, 2027 and tag VEED as a tool you used. That makes you eligible for the VEED Awards automatically.
If you share your entry on social media, tag the Chroma Awards and VEED and submit the link for a chance to be featured as Submission of the Day.

Submissions opened on October 19 and close on January 7, 2027. Shortlisting runs through January, finalists go to public voting and judging, and winners are announced on February 11, 2027, with an awards gala to follow in April.
The VEED Awards pay $1,000 in cash to the first-place entry, $750 to second, and $500 to third. First place also comes with a CPP position, if one is available; the VEED Awards page has the full rules. Entrants must be 18 or over, from a non-sanctioned country, and the work must be their own, using only music, footage, and likenesses they have permission for.
