How to Convert SRT to VTT:

Click on ‘Choose Subtitle File’ and select your SRT file from your folders or Library. You will be taken to VEED’s Subtitles Page.

Auto convert
When your file is uploaded, click on Options. Choose VTT from the dropdown. VEED will automatically convert your SRT file into VTT.
Step 03
Download the transcript
Click on the Download button beside the dropdown menu. Your VTT file will be saved to your device.

While the two are both subtitle files, there is an important distinction between a VTT and an SRT. With a VTT file, you can do text formatting—meaning you can change the positions of text and other rendering options when you edit it.
SRT means SubRip Text. It is a plain text file that contains captions or subtitles. The file includes the time stamp information or where each line of text will be displayed throughout the video.
Most media players like VLC can open SRT files when you include them in your video. It is also compatible with Windows Media Player and YouTube videos.
