Once you do, you'll be prompted to upload your GIF to VEED. For the purpose of this section, let’s assume that you’ve already created a GIF (or have a video that you'd like to convert into a GIF), and now want to remove its background.

There are two ways you can upload GIFs to VEED, making it easier to quickly grab a GIF and edit it based on your needs. You can either:

  • Click on Upload a File to browse your device and select the GIF/video whose background you wish to remove, or;
  • Select Dropbox to upload a GIF/video directly from your Dropbox account

3. (Optional) Click on Blank Canvas If You Don’t Have a GIF to Work with

If you want to create a new GIF, click on Blank Canvas. You can upload a video and turn it into a GIF or select one from our GIF library.

5. (Optional) Pick a GIF from the GIF Bar and Adjust it to Your Canvas

Once you click on GIFs, you’ll see plenty of different options you can choose from. To make it easier and faster to find the perfect GIF, scroll through the GIF categories and pick one that suits your needs the best:

  • Greetings
  • Emotions
  • Action
  • Adjectives
  • Decades
  • Gaming
  • Interests
  • Memes

Since our GIFs are powered by GIPHY, you can find and edit your GIF straight in our dashboard. This way, you can skip the hassle of downloading from multiple websites and then editing them in another tool just for a single GIF—use an all-in-one video editor like VEED that helps you keep everything in one place.

Here are a few ways you can customize your GIF:

  • Customize video canvas: you can also click on the size dropdown menu to change or resize your video canvas to your liking
  • Add more elements: in the left-hand panel you can also explore options to add text or add more elements to your GIF

8. Download Your GIF

Finally, click on Done to download or share your video. From there, you can choose the export quality based on what platform you want to share it on, frames per second needed, and more.

‍Pro Tip: If you regularly create GIFs for your social media, website, newsletter, or even YouTube videos, click on the icon right next to the Export button after you have selected the final video quality. This will create a customized template for you. The next time you want to edit or create a GIF, you can simply search for your template and use it.

Hit Export and once your GIF is loaded, click on the download icon to the right. You’ll then see three different download format options (MP4, GIF, or MP3); select GIF and your file will be downloaded to your device!
